This is a common sight in tree planting; someone hard at work. That person happens to be me taking a rest at the cache after a long day of work. This photo was taken by a crew mate, May 31, 2020, near 70 Mile House.

Summary of Employment Activity:
Reforested areas of clear-cut blocks, and sites of forest fires
Ensured quality trees were planted to ensure maximum survival of seedlings
– In reforesting clear-cuts and fire scorched areas I can see how in the future these areas will be a more resilient ecosystem. this is because when disturbance like this happens, it resets the ecosystem, but we’re coming in and jump starting the process, and therefore creating habitat for wildlife, and helping mitigate the effects of climate change. In replanting an area for resilience we are choosing a species of trees that we know can handle fires, pests and the stress of climate change.
